Little Yellow
Plants called "high bush blueberry" probably include some distinct species. It is in the same family (Ericaceae) as rhododendrons, sourwood, heaths and indian pipes. Vaccinium specialize in growing on nutrient poor soils (like old cotton fields) and rely on symbiotic ericiod mycorrhiza: fungus that help the plant extract nutrients. The order Ericales includes persimmons, ebony, silver bells and the camelias.
